I am Richard Lewis, I am a long-time fixture on the Detroit art scene. I was educated at the Center for Creative Studies (BFA), and Yale School of Art (MFA). I consider myself patient but persistent when teaching, and very much concerned with examples from the past in books and the museum.

Gailanna Pottery & Arts, founded in 2013, is a distinguished ceramic arts and learning center located in Macomb, Michigan, and its surrounding areas. The center offers classes in wheel throwing and hand-building for all skill levels and provides studio memberships for independent artists. They also host innovative educational events, Girls' Night Out, birthday parties, and bi-annual open houses. Gailanna Pottery & Arts keeps a stock of clay, glazes, and pottery tools, and displays a gallery of purchasable pieces.

I have been an art educator for over 18 years. I teach individual art classes that can be tailored to your needs. Additionally, I can help homeschooling students with Advanced Placement courses and art portfolios for scholarships/colleges.
