So easy to work with! They are always willing to work with our schedule and the whole process is just so easy and delightful (not to mention their teachers are great!)

Our teacher comes to our house each week with a huge smile on her face. Our kids have improved a lot, and always look forward to lessons. Highly recommend!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Our teachers meet the students where they are. Some students come to us knowing nothing about music, some have been studying for years. We personalize lessons for each student, taking into account their needs, their learning style, and what they love most about music.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All of our teachers either have a degree in music or are currently working towards one. They are also working musicians, representing many areas of the music industry from jazz musicians to musical theater performers to members of the symphony.

How did you get started teaching?

My name is Danit, and I am the founder and director of Lakeside Music Academy. I have actually been teaching private piano and voice lessons since I was in highschool back in 2006! I had 12  students - they each came to my (parent's) home in Plymouth, giving me my first teaching experience when I was still a student myself.

After graduating highschool, I moved to Boston where I attented Berklee College of Music and worked at a music academy in the suburbs of Boston. After graduating from Berklee, I moved all over the country, teaching in Los Angeles, then Colorado.

I finally decided to accomplish the dream that I had had since those early teaching days in Plymouth - starting a music school that focuses on the students' love of music, integrating a high-level curriculum without losing the fun of music. We carefully choose our teachers with this in mind.

What types of students have you worked with?

Our teachers represent a wide musical spectrum. From Classical to jazz to musical theater; no matter what you're looking for, we've got the teacher for you.
