About this pro

Every one of my clients has different needs and I address those needs individually. I have been coaching golf since 2003 and have given thousands of lessons. After each lesson you will receive a video of your swing with a voiceover description of what we discussed during the lesson. You will have full access to me in my FREE Facebook group for support as you go through the process.

I love helping people achieve their goals and watching them develop into better golfers. I take great pride in being a part of that journey. Golf is for everyone and I make the coaching process easy to understand and fun to do. This is the best job on earth!

I brought my 13-year-old son to Black Sail and was blown away. His attention was on the instruction and he really seemed to enjoy himself. Our favorite part was the videos that David sent with his practice recommendations after the lesson. It really brought value to the lesson and made the package worth every penny. If only it wasn't so hot this summer, we would work with David everyday! Thank you for helping our Paul!

This is hands-down the easiest and most supportive instruction I have ever received! Black Sail goes out of their way to remind you that golf is for everyone and YOU BELONG! I love golf again and I am so thankful for Black Sail.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

When we first meet we will have a quick chat about what your goals are, how quickly you want to get there, and what limitations or obstacles you may have. After that we will get right into it and start swinging. I make small, easy to digest adjustments and we move at your pace. Every swing is different and I will teach you how own yours.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a graduate of The Golf Academy of America's, I am V1 Sports Level 1 certified, Black Sail Golf is a USGA Member Organization, and I have been coaching golf since 2003.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching in 2003 because I love being around golf and helping others to enjoy the game. Golf is for everyone and it is my goal to help golfers loosen up around the course and really have fun.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have coached beginners, juniors, adaptive golfers, and even aspiring professional players. Everyone plays the game a little different and it's my job to help you develop your skills so you can play the game the way YOU want to.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Any tournament supporting Autism or Type 1 Diabetes. Veterans organizations and first responders.

Favorite Major is The Masters and favorite tour event is The Wells Fargo at Quail Hollow (because I’m close and we get free tickets 😂)

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

It is imperative that you find a coach that you can communicate with and who understands you as an individual.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What are my golf strengths?

What costs me the most strokes per round?

What do I hope to accomplish through coaching?

How much effort am I willing to put into this process?
