I have over 50 years as a Performing Artist/Specialist, on the Conga drum. I have also been teaching around the world for over 35 years. This is a 'one on one' learning experience like no other. I teach the "Cuban" methodology and my own developed over many years, on How to play the Conga drum.
I hold a Doctoral in Fine Arts with concentration in Performance. I have worked with over 20 Grammy artists , recorded on over 400 albums, and have traveled to 50 countries as a touring musician. I have worked in almost every musical field from Pop to Disco to Salsa and beyond. I have also self produced 5 cd,s ender my name Johnny Conga On Amazon, Spotify and other online outlets for music.
I love the drum! The friends i have made because of the drum is incalcuable.. I am able to enrich and enhance other peoples lives through the drum. It brings me great pleasure when I can do that and it lasts a lifetime.

How did you get started teaching?
A friend came to me when I had been playing for awhile and asked me to teach him, so I did, and it went on from there..
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly Adults ..I don't teach children to play the Conga drum.
I have worked with all kinds of students from college, from notable bands, from overeas(Australia to Europe). People who want to start a 'hobby' to learn and play the Conga drum, and some who want to make it a musical career.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask for references, history of the teacher, experience, what they teach, and if they have a specific methodology
