Blair identified a couple key changes and made the changes from bad habits to good habits simple to understand and remember.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Depends on the student and their goals they want to achieve from this beautiful game.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

22 years as a PGA Golf Professional. Been in my current role as the Lead Instructor at Birkdale golf club since 2007. Dedicated my life and career to coaching, teaching and playing competitive golf.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$75 per hour. Series of four lessons equals $350 and includes one nine hole playing lesson. Series of 8 lessons equals $650 and includes two nine hole playing lessons. Annual lesson rate is $1300 for adults and $950 for juniors. Annual package runs from April 1- December 31 and includes 2 lessons per month plus six nine hole playing lessons. 30 total hours in 9 month period. Junior rates are $55 for one hour, four lessons plus a nine hole playing lesson equals $275 and eight lessons plus two nine hole playing lesson equals $425

How did you get started teaching?

Entered the golf business in 1995 out of College. Wanted to have a career that I had passion for and truly loved getting up to go to work. Golf is a great example of work ethic, attitude and patience. Golf and life skills are spot on

What types of students have you worked with?

All ages and abilities. Teaching a kid who is 5 years old and a lady who is 72, and everything between. Amazing stuff getting to meet so many interesting people from all walks of life and all over the world

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Certified club fitter for Mizuno, Titleist and SeeMore putters. Education with colleagues on ways to improve the game and continue to grow it the Right Way is my goal. I Love being a PGA Member of the Carolinas PGA Section.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Do your research about the instructor and find out who they are and what they're about. Word of mouth is the best way to find out about someone. I recommend to all my students to find the right fit between coach and student.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Golf doesn't build character, It reveals IT.

Any relationship is not built in a half hour or one hour, etc.

Takes time to build a foundation and relationship between coach and student in any forum. Solid Foundation in Golf takes time and patience, but is Totally worth the effort.
