About this pro

I am the most patient instructor for all ages and talent! I am 42 years old and I've had a club in my hand sense I could walk. I've played competitively through Junior high- until the present and and I can take strokes off anyone's game though a common sense , fun , and easy format if you are willing to put some work in!! I also offer a money back guarantee if results are not noticed with in 30 days.  I passed my Players ability test with a score of 74/70 ! And have a handicap that stays Around zero. I make it fun and simplify golf because we all know how had golf is.  It is very hard but my method makes it fun and fun is half the battle!

I enjoy the pure look on someone's face after they hit a perfect shot!!!! Nothing makes me happier!!i also more than anything love to pass the knowledge I've gained going through the ups and downs of injury and life in general !

Ryan did exactly what he said he would - gave me simple pointers and tweaks for my game that immediately made a difference. He’s fun, patient, and willing to work with you where you are. I look forward to working with Ryan further.

I am a beginner to the game who was just trying to be able to go out with my husband who plays all the time and not embarrass myself . My experience with Ryan was really in the title ,Ryans simple stupid golf lessons! He was so patient I was amazed and he made a very complicated game to me seem a whole lot easier ! He took the little bit of a horrible swing lol that I had and literally showed me just some minor adjustments , but simple adjustments with my grip and stance and tempo and by the end of the lesson I went from hitting worm burners and misses to actually hitting some drives over 200 yards ,which I never thought I could do! I also was swinging what I thought to be a whole lot easier than my natural swing by the end if the lesson and this was because he explained how important tempo and timing was compared to swinging harder and faster ! He hit a couple shots and he has a very smooth slow swing but hits the ball so far ,and that's what he was trying to show me, that tempo and timing are far more important than stepping up and just trying to kill the ball which is what I always did because I didn't know any better!! also the first lesson is free because he says you shouldn't pay someone money unless you know they can actually help you improve and WOW did he help and sent me off with things to work on myself to keep improving!! He briefly showed me some putting technical stuff and other short game stuff that I look forward to learning. He is also such a nice, super patient, and approachable man and I felt no pressure at all to commit to anything long term although I did go ahead and pay for two lessons a week for the next six months and I'm also starting lessons for my 13 year old daughter. I can't put into words how much I learned and I had very very Iow expectations considering I've never been able to hit the ball with any confidence or consistency and I left my lesson feeling confident that I'll be getting better in the future to come. If you are new to the game or experienced and want a simple but professional approach to golf do yourself favor and reach out to Ryan!! He knows his stuff ,he bets on himself as you can see he offers the first lesson free and the end of our first lesson all he did was look at me and say" Jessica ,do you honestly feel that I improved your game today ?" I said absolutely and he asked me to commit to another lesson and I went ahead and paid for six months!! Thanks so much Ryan for being so patient and professional, I can't wait to go out after the rest of our time and whoop my husband's behind!! Lol

Ryan has been a great instructor for me! He has helped me with every part of my game. From putting, chipping, iron play to the driver he has been very helpful! He doesn’t make you change your swing, he helps you fine tune your swing! He is a great instructor to not only make you a better golfer but also a smarter golfer which helps out so much! I would recommend Ryan for any golfer no matter what level you are at!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I let the student take control of there own game. Years ago when I took my first lesson , my pro worked with me and didn't Change my natural swing , he torked it and changed some simple mechanics and I thrived from that point on! However I can teach anymore the textbook swing and mechanics but if you can name two golfers that swing exactly alike then that would be something !  I look at what you do well and build from that so you start with a strong foundation!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I played in junior high, high school, and college  competitely,  also have passed my Players Abilty Test and will be a full PGA professional within 18 months!! I've also worked with hundreds of students over the past 20 years. I've had students of all genders and handicaps ranging in age from   4 years old to 75 years old.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Sense I'm Fully aware that not all teacher/students are a fit I offer my first lesson free!  I've been taught all of the different ways to teach from putting , to chipping to driving and I have a standard rate of 65$ and hour, and I have a proven five lesson package for 300$  where I walk you through everything from the driver all the way to sand play and on down to the most important part of golf chipping and putting !

How did you get started teaching?

I got started teaching because of my passion fo golf and about ten years ago after playing with a guy in Las Vegas and giving him some simple tips he offered to pay me , and wihin 6 months I knocked a full 10 strokes off his handicap!!! I also have had a club in my hand sense I could walk and I've also passed the PGA players ability test which is the test you take that begins the process of becoming a certified PGA teaching professional which is a 36 hole test, playing PGA rules in one day and shooting below a target number of 150 total strokes. My score was 74/70!  Nothing makes me happier than passing on my knowledge of this awesome but challenging game that we all love!!

What types of students have you worked with?

I've worked with kids as young as 3 and adults as old as 75 from beginners to scratch golfers. Everyone can use a coach sometimes ! I worked with numerous college players ,high school and middle school players, golfers of all ages and skill levels. I've personally coached over 25 students that have gone on to complete the requirements to become certified teaching professionals!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I just played in the Josh Bush foundation annual golf tourney which raises money for the local youth in Lexington NC and provides equipment for underprivileged kids! I met a lot of professional football players and coaches because I know Josh personallybut the best part was we raised money for the so many kids!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look for someone who is patient and accommodating, there isn't one correct way to play golf , there are hundreds of ways to get you the results you are looking for!! The biggest piece of advice I can give anyone is make sure that you find a coach that is patient , a coach that you get along with , and one that can spot any faults in your swing by watching only a few swings. Also a coach needs to be super positive in the every aspect and approach because golf teaches so much more than just playing a game! It teaches honesty , discipline, and responsibility!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What do I need the most help with ?  What is causing me to lose the most strokes while I'm playing a round? What are my ultimate goals and what are you " and "I" going to do to get me there?
