About
Jim rejoined the River Run Professional staff as Director of Golf in May 2017 after a seven-year absence. Jim had been the Head Golf Professional at River Run for 7 years from 2004-2010 before taking over as the Head Golf Professional at Deerwood Country Club in Jacksonville, FL from 2010-2017. Jim is one of 345 Master PGA Professionals to ever earn the PGA's highest designation and was one of the first PGA Professionals to earn all six certifications offered through the PGA. Jim was actively involved with the North Florida PGA Board for the past 7 years recently serving as President of the Northern Chapter and chairing several Committees, including the Education & Mentoring Committee.
Jim earned a B.S. in Marketing at Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and an A.S. in Business Administration at Dutchess College in New York. Jim has been happily married since 2000 to his wife Denise, and they have two children, Elizabeth and Anthony who are very active in golf.

How did you get started teaching?
Began as PGA Apprentice at Legends Golf Resort. Quickly began teaching private and group instruction as well as golf schools.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Research the teachers background. Seek others who have taken lessons from the instructor before for feedback.
