About
As a golf instructor, my lessons focus on more than just my students lessons. I focus on mental strength on top of the traditional swing lessons. I find that by knowing what shot you need to hit in a situation is just as important as being able to swing on a path that will hit that shot. Golf is a mental game, you can see that when watching the best on tour. Everybody makes mistakes, but being able to forget that bad shot and make up for it with a fantastic recover can be equally or more important. Being mentally strong is a huge part of this. That is how I think my teaching style differs from your traditional swing coach.
I enjoy being able to watch my students improve. There is a saying that I've always heard and that I find to be very true. "Progress is progress no matter how small". I think that is what makes my job so much more enjoyable than anything else I've done in my life. Being able to see improvement. To me it doesn't matter if you missed that shot 50 yards short, if it was better than you were hitting right before, I see that as progress. It's also part of the thrill of golfing. When I first started playing, if I got a par I was estatic. It's what drove me. You can get frustrated but that one good hole is what keeps you coming back. Seeing my students get to a point where that one good hole turns to two good holes and then three, is what makes my job enjoyable. Knowing I have that impact and that my students are serious about that game while having fun.
