My passion is teaching the game of golf and helping students reach their individual goals. We will identify, based on your physical abilities, the right path to help you realize your full golfing potential. For the past 12 years, I have worked at Duke University Golf Club. Currently, I serve as the Co-Head Professional. I was most recently ranked by Golf Digest as the 7th Best Instructor in North Carolina (2015).

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The process for a new student involves a pre-lesson introduction during which I will ask a series of questions to better understand the student's goals, past golf experience, past sport experience, physical injuries, etc...
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a PGA member and have attended various teaching/coaching seminars across the country.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My hourly rate is $110. I also offer a 6 lesson package for $550.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching after being a collegiate golfer at St. Andrew's Presbyterian College and going to work full time at Duke University. My coach and mentor is a PGA Master Professional and Top 100 Instructor in Golf Magazine. I learned quickly that my passion was for teaching the game and helping students realize their goals for golf.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with beginners up to mini tour players - all different skill sets with a wide variety of goals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I personally really enjoyed watching the final round of the Brittish Open- incredible golf played at the highest level
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do your research and trust your instincts. I think it's important to find someone who will put your goals first and understand a realistic approach to helping your accomplish those goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1) What do you hope to get out of this lesson?
2) What are you're realistic goals for this year?
3) How much time will you put into practicing/playing?
