With over 30 years of teaching hundreds of students (14 years at Charlotte Academy of Music), I have a curriculum for both 6 and 7 string guitar that will take you from square one to an advanced level whereby you not only understand theory as it relates to the guitar, but you also have a command of the guitar with your own style, developed from the sum of your influences.

Jeff Purtle has given recitals in England, Wales, Scotland and the USA. He has spoken at the International Trumpet Guild Conference and hosted his own conferences. Jeff’s brass students are in all branches of the United States military, band directors from SC and other states, and students in the San Francisco Symphony, Charlotte NC Symphony, Greenville Symphony, Charleston Symphony, Augusta Symphony, Aiken Symphony, Jacksonville FL Symphony, and UK and Chinese orchestras. I have 30 years of experience . I took 3 months of formal lessons from a Berkley College of Music Graduate but other than that I'm self taught , Started playing at 12 years old and took on my first paying student at 17 years old . I played in a few cover groups and a few all original groups between the years of 2005 and 2020. Iv'e played everywhere from Atlanta, GA ,New Orleans ,LA ,Ft. Myers Florida, Folly Beach , SC, Asheville, NC, Greensboro, NC, and of course many many gigs in Charlotte, NC and Gastonia, NC.
