What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Starting with the basics, or where you are, I build a flexible, simple dance or choreograph a blow-the-roof-off one.
The song tells me the style of dance we'll be working on, and building blocks step by step, re-enforcing and rehearsing as we go along, in a few lessons - if you can walk, you can dance!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A certified dance instructor for more than twenty years (Ballroom, Latin, Ballet, and Jazz), Peter's taught at Fred Astaire, with Pierre Dulaine, the West Side Dance Project, HB Studio, American Youth Theater, Cornell and Columbia Universities, Trinity College (Dublin, Ireland), in London, Nice, Paris and at Lincoln Center. He is staff/ Faculty of the Theater Workshop, is a Broadway Theater Institute Faculty Fellow, an instructor with/on Board of Directors of the Manhattan Dance/ Theater and an Advisory Board member of Musical Mondays Theater Lab.
