Chris Yoda E. says, "Awesome Coach! Totally exceeded my expectations of him and this platform, as I am brand new to both entities, today. He is super kind, patient, wise and informative. He went above and beyond to really make sure I understood what I needed to be prepared in the acting/entertainment ecosystem by showering me with honesty and realistic advice which includes his own testimonies as he's also well-versed in the entertainment industry. In our first session I was sure he will be a great coach for me, because It's like his advice was tailored specifically for me that I felt so confident in partnering with Alex to materialize my most realistic goals." Basic acting classes for all beginners: I'll teach you what to look for in the script and how to rehearse. I am committed to positive reinforcement and keeping it fun. I have been acting and doing some directing for over thirty years in NYC, and around the country, with Off-Broadway and television credits. I am a graduate of the NYU Tisch School Graduate Acting program, and have also trained at American Conservatory Theatre. My classes will combine the lessons I learned from great teachers with my own experience....

As an actor and a teacher, I have a unique perspective of the audition experience. I am also a neurodivergent individual with ADHD and am interested in non-traditional approaches to determining what success looks like for each of my students. I enjoy the connections I get to make with my students and seeing their own personal growth across our time together.

Montclair Voice Studio Distance distinguishes itself from other studios in providing a most optimal and holistic learning environment. Each student is fully assessed and given the tools to identify and correct “weaknesses”, build upon strengths and cultivate ones’ scholarship all while encouraging one to connect with the best opportunities for one’s own artistic/recreational/professional development. I truly cannot say enough about what a wonderful and RARE gem and model is found here. They see you at your best potential here and you leave the studio reaching that potential! Isn’t that the point of learning?!!!

Marc cultivates the outrageous in his students, urging us to risk bigger choices, all the while providing a safe platform from which to explore. His background in Lecoq and his compassion for fellow humans makes Marc a keen observer of his student's personal clowns which means that the practice room is exhilarating. Marc encourages but holds students accountable for their choices. Equally skilled as a performer and director, Marc models a mind-body approach to acting more often found in Europe than the US. I find his approach to my acting challenges super specific and personal to me. I highly recommend spending some time unlocking with Marc!

Taking vocal lessons with Sarah has been the best decision for my voice. She’s helped me build confidence and feel secure in every performance, audition, and rehearsal. What I love about Sarah is how she explains things in multiple ways to help any student understand. I’m a visual learner, and she always gives me clear mental images that make concepts easy to grasp. Beyond her amazing teaching, Sarah is the kindest person. She makes every lesson feel comfortable, no matter what kind of day I’ve had. I recommend her to all my friends and will continue to do so. Thank you to Sarah!

Brandon is able to take the seemingly most complex scene and break it down to its essentials. Ensuring not only a great understanding, but also endless possibilities in play. He’s been a great help in my prep for many important jobs, Including my network audition for ABCs General Hospital (which I booked!)

Reno is an excellent coach and very knowledgeable of the industry. He offers actors a place to grow, network, and the ability to hone their craft all within the Actors Gym. Not only are classes available, professional headshots and various other forms of coaching services are available. I highly recommend Actors Gym, a place where an actor of any level can feel comfortable improving their skills.

One of the best collaborations I can recall is that with Maria Tsaroucha, who directed and led in my play “The Missing- an interesting life. This is a play which, on the occasion of the “difficult” subject of people missing in the aftermath of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, deals with contemporary issues such as intentional ignorance and fear. The play had already been produced several times but Tsaroucha’s presentation surpassed all expectations. She presented it from the point of view of an ancient Greek tragedy and the production was enriched by the ancient emotion of Methexis and Catharsis. Through PAD, she was able to interlink contemporary theater with the rituals and the sacred emotion of Ancient Tragedy, thus presenting the audience with a invaluable esthetic experience. A unique experience also for the actors who participated and had the opportunity to explore their limits and abilities past the boundaries of the conventional acting technique. Moreover, Maria Tsaroucha, who had one of the leading roles, gave a live and fully characteristic instance of PAD, attaining to a performance overwhelming in its simplicity and naturalness.
