Blaire O'Leary - Monologue Coaching
About
**Coaching as now moved online for a discounted rate!**
I offer monologue study and audition coaching for young adults, teens, and kids. The move online has been prompeted by recent world events, in an effort to keep us working together as a community of artists.
For monologue work, I focus on finding material that fits the individual student, and more importantly, that the student is passionate about working on. My aim is for students to leave with a repertoire of material and an arsenal of acting tools, giving them a confident and professional step up in the audition room or on a job. Along with working on monologues, I offer coaching on cold reading and audition technique.
Classical monologue coaching is also available, through a teaching artist I partner with.

I love the process of finding the right material for my students, and watching them grow as performers while working on it. I feel strongly that we should learn to love monologue work and auditioning, and much as the work we do beyond it. I hope to share this passion for this part of the process with every student I meet.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I spend time getting to know each student - what stories they are passionate about telling and what their strengths are as a performer. We spend the first couple sessions finding material (monologues) to work on. Once material is selcted, we work on them to get them to a performance ready place. We do this using a mix of actor tools and exercises that can be used on any project moving forward. We can also cover audition technique, cold reading, side preperation, and resume preperation at the student's request.
