My service stands out because it’s an untamed, naive approach to acting that dares to imagine that no one has to learn to act, they merely need to remember. I believe that if we can tap into our bodies, our playfulness, or silliness, and quiet the grown-up, logical voices in us that we can remember how to play with the same investment we did as children. My approach is about how brave you can be, how alive you can feel, how hard you can pretend, how much fun you can have, not about measuring your “talent”, or getting you do it “right.” I can guide you through all
I've been a professional actor in NYC for six years, and have a BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. I've taught at the Stonestreet Studio for Film and TV, and frequently lend out services for self-taping for film and theater auditions with private clients.
My background is in the Stella Adler/Stanislovsky method of deep script analysis, combined with Joanna Merlin's Audition Technique. Combine that with advanced improv training from Upright Citizens Brigade for comedy-specific scenes, and you've got the perfect bag of tools to grab from for any audition.
I'd love to
I have been teaching the Meisner technique and scene study for 29 years. Lauren Velez, Lou Martini, Jr., Lilias White and Sonja Sohn are among the many professional actors with whom I have worked.
My approach to acting is hands-on in an atmosphere that is conducive to learning and free of any form of verbal abuse. The relationship between teacher and student must be one that is based on trust or learning will not occur.
Many of my students are working professionally today in theater, film and TV. For more detailed information on my background and experience please go to www.alangor
