Zen focuses on quality instructors who have studied music on a collegiate level with advanced degrees and extensive teaching experience. We offer examinations with the ABRSM, having students achieve distinction recognition, scoring the highest in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Our students have also been placed in NJ regional and state bands. Zen offers lessons for various instruments, as well as for aural training and music theory.

Professional violinist with more than 20 years of experience, studied in Europe and in the US (Eastman School of Music-NY) performed on one of the most prestigious stages of the world. Extremely patient with a vast experience of teaching all level students,beginners to advanced. In a lesson I am combining theory and ear training with violin/viola, each student would have a personalized practice plan that would help and lead to a deeper understanding of the repertoire.

My name is Jarred Mercado and I have been teaching violin for the last 3 years. I am a Mathematics and Music Major at Hofstra University. I have worked with students from grades 3-9 on NYSSMA solo Repertoire from levels 1-5 on violin and viola and my students have earned scores in the outstanding category. I also work with students on basic technique, musicianship, and orchestral repertoire in order to help them become a well rounded musician.

My name Tetyana Barbacena. I am teaching strings instruments and piano for all ages and any levels. My students start from four years old and my oldest student is over seventy years old. Some of my students are participating in international competitions, some playing for the local church. My teaching technique depends heavily on the personality of the specific student and his/her desires.
