Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Remind students to have fun. Building a strong foundation of basics is essential. Mastering footwork is one of our first priorities without abandoning musicality.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started training on how to be a dance instructor 17 years ago by flying out or bringing in top dance coaches. Knowimg how to dance and knowing how to teach are two different worlds sp training myself on how to be the best dance instructor has been my priority for almost 20 years.

How did you get started teaching?
Dancing was bringing so much joy, health, beautiful people into my life and I truly felt was making me a better person so I decided I had to share this w the world and the only way to do it was by teaching. I'm a very passionate dance instructor. I sincerely love teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 6 yrs pld and as old as 85 yrs old. From every part of the world. I have worked w students that spoke no English to students that had not even heard Latin music ever before. I have worked w people w disabilities and people who claimed they had no rhythm or had two left feet.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Too many to mention but here is one...
A professional self steam / relationships speaker who hired us to do a class and showcase at her conference asked me to speak to her audience as well. After the event she advised me I should include the word "therapy" when advertising my lessons. The reason I'm fond of this experience is becasue she saw something in the way I approach my lessons that is very unique and I really believe in.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find out how long they've been teaching, what type of teaching training they have, why they teach and look for reviews.
You want to find the best teacher not the best dancer.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask the teacher how dancing will impact your life and why learn Latin dancing.
How long have you been teaching not just dancing?
