I teach all ages and all level. Currently, I am an orchestra teacher at Lawrence Elementary. I teach 4th-6th grade orchestra. I also prepare students for NYSSMA and all county.

My name is Jarred Mercado and I have been teaching violin for the last 3 years. I am a Mathematics and Music Major at Hofstra University. I have worked with students from grades 3-9 on NYSSMA solo Repertoire from levels 1-5 on violin and viola and my students have earned scores in the outstanding category. I also work with students on basic technique, musicianship, and orchestral repertoire in order to help them become a well rounded musician.

I’ve been playing violin since I’ve was six years old. In the years since I took part in several prestigious orchestras, including the SCMEA All Suffolk County orchestra and the New York All State Symphony in 2018. With a strong understanding on the instrument’s sound and feel, you/your child will be one with the music.

The Children's Orchestra Society, founded in 1962 and located in New York, is dedicated to teaching children and teens the language of music. This not-for-profit organization provides excellent training in classical music and offers opportunities to perform in orchestral and chamber music settings. Under the guidance of Dr. Yeou-Cheng Ma and Michael Dadap, the society nurtures children to develop teamwork and life skills through music, embodying their mission to cultivate the future generation of musicians.
