We invite all students of all ages to study music with degreed, professional musicians, whether it be for your own enjoyment, for an audition/competition/performance, working toward entering college as a music major, working to serve your church music ministry, singing for weddings & funerals, or all of the above.
I’ve been teaching guitar, piano and trumpet for 30 plus years and teach both children and adults. I have a number of students who have become professional musicians, including Casey McPherson with Alpha Rev, Mandisa guitarist David May, and worship artist David Brymer. I have a music degree from Colorado University but I get just as much enjoyment from teaching a Mom how to play a children’s song, or from a child who learns their favorite Christmas song. In the end it’s about music and connecting with one another as a community.

Hello and thank you for your interest in this beautiful instrument.
I've been teaching for a little over a decade now and I enjoy it more now than ever. I love meeting new students because with each person comes a unique personality and learning style. I try to teach each student according to their respective proclivities while helping them to overcome their weaknesses as well. I try to create a fun environment to learn in, provide students with what they're looking for, and also throw in some nice surprises along the way. The eventual goal is to teach a student how to teach themselves. I've found if you mold a musician you're ma

Unlike many other teachers of musical instruments, I don't teach what I think you should learn, I find out what your goals are and what YOU want to learn and go from there. I use my 30+ years of experience to help you achieve YOUR goals. If you want to learn music theory, scales, and all that stuff, I can totally teach you all that too. But the bottom line is the goal of the student.
Located in the heart of Maderia, The Music Salon was started by guitar teacher Sean McGary in 2011. After teaching in music store chains for several years, Sean became disillusioned with the typical approach to learning guitar before deciding it was time for a new approach. And The Music Slaon was born.
The Music Salon offers an environment where students would feel welcome and at home, taking pains to avoid the typical, sterile, and impersonal vibe of most music stores. Students are encouraged to learn in the way that makes the most sense for them instead of being forced into a methodology.
