Here he returned to his fine art education there studying under brilliant artists and having his own art featured in local galleries and going on to teach on the college level. It was here he dreamed up the idea to start his own fine art studio in Portland,

“Not many teachers have Suzy’s understanding of the craft of painting, but what makes her unusual, I think, is her respect for you as an individual. No two people paint alike, and Suzy’s strength is that she doesn’t try to stuff you into a preconceived mold, come hell or high water. She figures out pretty quickly what you’re about, and helps you get where you’re trying to go.”
My experience with painting has been my whole life; both of my parents are painters. I teach in a very inclusive, dialogue kind of way. I want everyone to participate and communicate, however I realize that some people are on the shy side. I am very open to all personalities and all kinds of people expressing themselves they want to through their art. Everyone has something say, I want their voice to be heard. I myself am more on the quiet side, however I am also very goofy and silly. I use oil paints the most, it is the medium I have had the most exposure to.

Students become comfortable using Acrylic paints all while creating art. I have won ribbons and been awarded cash in shows for art I have created. I enjoy helping students realized the joy of painting.

I have a wide range of skills, from abstraction to realism and many hues in between. I received my Bachelor's in Fine Arts from The Oregon College of Art and Craft, a school that gave me background in modern, conceptual art. I've also self-taught with traditional techniques. I've heard it said that it takes 10,000 hours to become a pro, which is why I give my students a painting assignment from our very first lesson. I will get you started wherever you are in your level of experience. I'll help you learn to paint what you're looking at as well as develop your own sense of style when painting e
