In my teaching, I find a balance of student-led creativity, technical foundations, and literacy in music theory and history. I have degrees in violin performance from Boston University and Lynn Conservatory and perform professionally as a soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician.

After winning 1st Prize and Bach Prize at the 2020 Stulberg International String Competition in Michigan, United States, he won a prize at the 2020 Irving M. Klein International String Competition in San Francisco, United States. Dongyoung was also one of the Laureates at the 2020 J. S. Bach Competition. I believe that establishing the fundamentals (instrument anatomy, note reading, proper picking/bowing, ear training) will help build upon the students' later skills that they'll learn. I've been playing violin for roughly 8 years, guitar for about 5, and teaching both for about 4 years to beginner/intermediate students.
