The Power of Positive Painting© Workshops and Classes

Put Robert Maniscalco’s 37 years of experience to work for you. His two and three day portrait painting workshops have lead to many successful painting careers all over North America. His “secrets” were no secret to the masters. Based on the Frank Reilly Method, Robert has adapted this amazing painting system to the needs of modern realist. P3 participants explore value-based “light on form” painting methods to create expressive, colorful, accurate professional level portraits and fine art.

Have you noticed many artists avoid the figure and the human head in their work? This course will give you the skill and confidence you need to bring life into your art. Maniscalco will also include plenty of professional tips unique to portraiture as a career. Many past participants have expressed they learned more in three days with Robert than in all their college art courses combined.

I took an oil painting course from Robert through his studio gallery. I probably learned more in six weeks than I did throughout 6 years of college when it came to painting technique. Robert was accessible, personable, patient, enthusiastic and communicated a great deal of information in an easy, fluid manner. He has an astute eye, a quick and engaging mind, and is well-educated in many aspects of the arts including theater, music, and writing. He is a Renaissance man without pretense and willingly shares his knowledge with ease and likable informality. I recommend him highly.

    Frequently asked questions

Like Picasso, who learned the rudiments of visual literacy before he found his style, Robert recommends we engage in the process of achieving mastery over the visual elements, if for no other reason than to give us confidence and authority to go after our ultimate vision.  Who knows where that journey might lead?

for actors, I offer myself as a fully trained, experienced actor and director. I do audition coaching as well as private training in the Strasberg method as well as an eclectic blend of many processes and methods geared at getting the student to as organic and deep a performance as possible.

For drawing and painting classesi I charge $125 for four weekly classes, 2.5 hr each sessions. I also offer private lesson @ $85 / session. Less if you buy blocks of 2 or 4.

For actors, I offer private coaching for $45 / session.

Teaching helped me learn. I have taught painting and acting for over 35 years.

beginners to advanced. We are always beginners if we have chosen to continue learning new things.

choose the better artist over the consumate teacher

I ask students to think about their goals and what they might be willing to do to obtain them. I believe talent is just the thing others see se when we have worked hard and deeply. Painting and acting is fun and rewarding when we can align our ambitions to our level of commitment.
