Kristi C. says, "My son has been working with Nate since late fall of 2025 on batting, pitching, speed and agility. My son is 9 and plays 10u travel ball. (He plays an age bracket up, to challenge him and push him to better.) Nate is very knowledgeable and very patient. My son has made more contact since starting with Nate. Pitching is a new interest for my son but Nate has had zero problems working with him and I feel confident that with due time he will be ready to pitch in the age bracket that is a year up. My son was one of the slowest runners on the team before working with Nate and his speed has improved greatly over the course of just a few months. My son is what the baseball world would call a “late bloomer” he loves the sport and has a great attitude and work ethic but his skill set was noticeably behind those he played with. With Nate’s coaching my son has improved in all areas of baseball. I would highly recommend Nate for your experienced ball players and for your late bloomers!" Read more

Head coach at Nashville Baseball Academy since 2022 for 13u-15u teams. Grew up in Atlanta playing elite travel baseball year round including the East Cobb Astros. East Cobb Baseball and the Astros are recognized as one of the most elite travel baseball organizations in the country (alumni include Dansby Swanson, Zack Wheeler, Will Smith, Buster Posey, and hundreds more D1 and MLB players). I spent hundreds of hours with former MLB players and coaches who became trainers themselves. My goal is to transfer the knowledge I was given and help players reach their baseball career goals.

I'm a former All American and D1 pitcher! I have been training baseball players since 2010. I was the Head Baseball Coach at Germantown HS in Tenn last season. I just moved to the Middle TN area this month. I’m looking forward to continue to train at a high level and introducing new drills and techniques in the community. This will allow players to grow in the sport. I can also get your son recruited by different programs. I enjoy being around the sport, and I will do everything in my power to introduce that same passion into our young athlete. I can make the lessons a lot of fun or fully challenge their maximum potential. I will also suppor...

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.
