Hi there! I'm a Christian, a mother of 2 and a teacher that is passionate about children enjoying and looking forward to their music lessons rather than dreading them! I make learning a ton of fun, without compromising progress. I teach the homeschool community, offering lessons during the day, in your home, and I offer piano, voice, saxophone, irish (alto) recorder and also music theory (reading/writing music).

Amanda T. says, "I have played the acoustic guitar for many years. Kendrick has challenged me to play new sounds, and I am currently expanding my guitar vocabulary. If you are looking to amp up your guitar (or piano/ keyboard) musical skills, Kendrick has a wealth of knowledge and skill. He is able to teach the theory of music well and plays with much soul and knowledge combined. Highly recommended." Read more

Hello there! I'm a classically trained pianist who started playing piano at age 4 and never stopped! :) I play and teach all styles of music. I've been a working pianist as a church musician, ballet class accompanist and accompanist for college voice and instrumentalist students. I've been teaching piano for over 40 years. I bring my expertise, joy and love of teaching to every lesson. I focus on the most relaxed way to approach the keyboard which sets me apart from many other piano teachers. I also add a bit of theory, composition and improvisation to the mix. I love teaching students who play at every level - from beginner to advanced a...

Classical piano lessons teach you the traditional playing style of music written by composers like Mozart and Beethoven. You'll also learn important techniques and how to read sheet music of classical arrangements.

How long must you take piano lessons to play classical?

You must take piano lessons for 1 to 2 years with consistent practice to play simple classical pieces. Some people can make faster progress if they practice more often or have prior musical experience.

How long are classical piano lessons?

Classical piano lessons are 30 to 60 minutes long on average. The amount of time varies according to the teacher's style and the abilities of the student.

How do I find the best classical piano lessons near me?

Find classical piano lessons from private instructors by looking through the listings here on the Lessons website. Local music schools sometimes offer virtual lessons online as well.

Prior to hiring a local piano instructor, you should always:

  • Secure a minimum of 3 lesson cost estimates to get a clear comparison.
  • Read their ratings on sites such as Lessons and Google.
  • Talk to students on their references list.
  • Collect a written agreement and a lesson timeline before lessons begin.
  • Wait until after your preliminary sessions to start pre-booking for a month of lessons.

What question do I ask when choosing classical piano lessons?

When you're searching for a piano teacher, be sure to ask these questions:

  • How many years have you been teaching piano?
  • What is your formal music education background?
  • Which classical music composers are your favorites?
  • What is the typical age range of your students?
  • Do you offer a trial lesson, either for free or at a discounted rate?
  • If I don't have a piano, what type of keyboard should I get for practicing?
  • How much practice should I be doing outside of our lessons?
  • What textbooks do I need, and what's their cost?
  • Do you give assignments or pieces to memorize after each lesson?
  • Can you adapt your teaching style based on the individual student's needs?
  • What should I bring with me to our lessons?
  • How many different piano genres and styles can you teach?
  • Can I get a written copy of our agreement and the payment terms?
  • What is your policy for cancelling a lesson?
  • Will I be able to choose some of my own favorite songs to learn?

Dr. Bela made my son excited about piano lessons again. My son has been taking piano for almost 8 years and we found he wasn't being challenged or motivated anymore until starting lessons with Dr. Bela recently. So glad we found Ezra Entertainment and Dr. Bela!

We've tried 3 other piano teachers, and none of them inspired our son to be a better player like Kendrick. His method is effective and expectations for each lesson are clear. He even went so far as to help us find a new teacher when we moved.

It is always a relief to find the things I want to do within a reasonable distance from my home, and one of the several locations for lessons with Mr Weinberg is only 15 minutes away. He is a wonderful musician and is very intuitive on which aspects I need more clear instruction on, and which come more easily for me. This may sound like an obvious part of teaching, but it is not a given with all music instructors. Having that extra attention has gotten me off to a very solid start with no time wasted during the lessons. I'm thankful to have found Mr Weinberg, he is a gem in the music world. Give him a try, I promise you will be pleased with the lessons, and with the outcome.
