About
With over 27 years in the golf business, I have had the opportunity to work with students from all skill levels. I work closely with students to not only develop physical skills..but, to develop an understanding of the mental aspects of playing the game. I feel a well rounded education will assist students to become self correcting..benefitting them in the long run towards becoming competent players who enjoy playing the game.
Meeting people who are curious about the game and those who have come to love what the game represents.
Professional satisfaction comes from watching my students develop into life long golfers. The joy I feel comes from watching my students discover their potential and becoming aware of how much they enjoy this game.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, there is a initial consult where I get to know the student and their goals. This initial conversation allows me to properly access and structure a program to meet the students needs.
In these sessions we discuss the history of the student/player and the initial reasons for seeking golf instruction.
Practice time schedules are also discussed as well.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied with various instructors in the Austin area and have illustrated books and articles on golf instruction and etiquette.
I have taught beginners while consulting with top amateurs and local professionals on a daily basis. My knowledge from 27 years in the business allows me to custom tailor a program to meet individual needs.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I prefer to discuss pricing based on need. If I feel a student needs more instruction and will require additional time to develop..a long term plan of development and pricing is best. If the student needs just a quick tune up, my hourly rate is $175.00
Initial consult and assessment of the student is $ 150.00. The assessment includes swing analysis and on course playing review. This on course evaluation allows me to observe the potential student's current skills & ability before developing a plan for improvement.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in 1994 at the Jimmy Clay/ Roy Kizer golf complex in Austin, Texas..I apprenticed with Joe Balander and taught at the Austin Junior Golf Academy for 3 years before transitioning to admin and tournament operations. I continued to teach select clients while developing our instructional facility in southeast Austin.
I have been fortunate to have spent countless hours with some of Austin's top instructors developing and implementing teaching programs for all skill levels at our facility.
