WHAT IS VIALA SPANISH ACADEMY?

Viala Spanish Academy is an after school program designed for elementary aged students from preschool through middle school to learn Spanish as a second language. Through our unique Spanish curriculum, the children will learn through many different teaching techniques.

The children will learn not only vocabulary, but also will be taught how to speak using proper sentence structure and verbs. Our curriculum will include basic Spanish fluency for beginners and more advance conversational Spanish as students progress through our program.

Our priority at Viala Spanish Academy is the children. Our goal is to give children the ability to learn, improve and advance through a Spanish program while giving them tools for the future.

The after school program is available at selected schools within the Round Rock School District.

OUR TEACHERS

All of our principle teachers are native Spanish speakers from around the world to ensure an authentic Spanish experience. They are trained in the Viala curriculum so the classroom dynamic supports learning and fun for the children in each class. They are trained in elementary teaching techniques so the material is conveyed to student in an age appropriate manner. Each class will also have an assistant teacher to provide better personal assistance to those children who need extra help.

Not all children learn in the same way. Here, at Viala Spanish Academy, we recognize that and teach in a variety of ways that allow every child to learn. We combine teaching techniques such as visual representation worksheets with auditory repetition in order to ensure the children retain the most knowledge possible.

Every class will consist of direct instruction and class discussions regarding the daily theme. The children will have music and activities each class to provide verbal repetition. The theme topic will be reiterated through written worksheets and games. There will be something for every child’s distinctive learning style.

Preschool thru  high school 

It is important, when starting to learn a new language, to have a solid foundation. It is this idea that has inspired our curriculum to always offer a beginners class. This class will be for those students who are new to Spanish and allow them to become comfortable with the language. After the students have passed the beginners class, they will be incorporated into a continuing Spanish class with revolving topics to allow them to constantly learn new material.

Each class will consist of several different activities to keep the children engaged. We will start our classes by introducing the subject of the day. The children will learn vocabulary and everyday phrases that will help them communicate about the theme. Every day, the children will be introduced to a song, activity, worksheet and game which will provide the repetition needed to ensure they retain the knowledge. 

After completing each six week course, the students will be recognized for their achievements.
