Large Schools like Arthur Murray's, Dance with Me and Fred Astaire's charge more per lesson after their "introductory specials". On top of charging more, they give you less time in a private lesson, only 45 minutes opposed to an hour. Along with that they give you less control over what you learn and how much material you can experience based on how much you've paid.
On the other side of the coin, Independent teachers tend to be less professional or can lack in training. What we hear is most frustrating is they don't own their dance floor and cannot offer you much flexibility in their schedule.
We have built our customer service around doing the opposite of these models!
We charge less than large franchise schools and give you more time per lesson. We let you have total control of your learning process as we guide you through different methods until we find the learning style that best suits you. We will always make professional recommendations but when it comes down to it, we will always serve you as best we can!
We are about people learning to have fun, ordinary people doing extraordinary things, we like to say. While we are trained at higher levels and have competed, performed and coached others, we focus on social dancing with a splash of performance! Life is short and so we focus on teaching others how to have fun in this particular way called dance!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We discuss goals over the phone, set estimated expectations and disclose all costs ahead of time. Most studios these days have an "Introductory Special," then raise the rates on you once you're hooked. We give your budget peace of mind by being cheaper than the big studios and keeping it at a flat rate.
On the first lesson we will evaluate your skillset to give an accurate estimate on the time it will take to acheive your goals. (Wedding dances take 6-8 lessons on average, while fancier movies like lifts or tricks will be closer to ten lessons. Learning to socially dance for events takes 6-8 months taking lessons once a week, etc.)
If you are new, you will begin a foundation on your goalset.
If you have experience, you WILL NOT start over. Thats a huge complaint in the dance world. We will work with you at the level you are!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our background includes Being in the dance world over 20 years.
We've worked with famous dancers from SYTYCD and DWTS as well as known choreographers with movie credits (such as Lala Land)
We have years of performance experience, some competitive experience and a strong background in training others how to teach.
We regularly are learning new dances, taking masterclasses and expanding our knowledge.
We also are often hired to teach other teachers as our background is extensive and we teach around 50 different styles.
We have spent years researching dance history and interviewing first and second hand accounts from people around the world in relation to major events within the dance world so that we can preserve the history and knowledge of where our dances come from.

On average, one private lesson in DFW is $120 for a 45 minute private lesson time slot ( after completing any discounted programs or coupons). We offer full hours instead of the 45 minutes. We will generally be priced lower than most schools and give you more time and personalized attention. So our hourly privates are $100.
Generally, We discourage buying only one lesson as nothing can be guarenteed to be learned in a lasting fashion in such a short amount of time and no repetition. Like a language or a sport, dance takes time and lots of repetition, so we give a discount for buying four lessons or more at a time to ensure once or twice a week over a months time. When you purchase four or more, the rate is $80 per hour.
So in comparison:
most studios' rate of $120-$155 for 45 minutes.
Us: $100 one lesson at a time or buy 4 or more $80 a lesson, each lasting an hour!
How did you get started teaching?
We started out as a private student of a small Irish family!
We began dancing socially and people started asking to learn how to dance the "way" we did it, our "style". So there it began, we started teaching privately, then wanting to grow our knowledge, worked for several different studios. After seeing how it was done, and learning a lot, we felt we could contribute to the community in a unique way, a way that wasn't just about money and an impersonal system. A more personal touch with a more affordable price tag. Daily Dance was born!
What types of students have you worked with?
About 95% of our students are social dancers. We don't really focus on competition, though we are qualified to teach at that level, We enjoy teaching others to have fun. It's about learning to relax and learn at your speed and make friends versus working hard to be better than the couple you passed on your way in. We also put on performances a couple times a year. Fun routines to showcase your talent or what you have been working on recently!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We sometimes have get-togethers where a student will host a dinner dance at their home. We will bring food and drinks to match a theme and have a great time! They show something that most dance studios can't say they have in a way. While many make friends, they can't say its like family. We have been there for weddings, having kids, all sorts of life changing events, and your dance family is right there along side with you. We are a business that's not about dance, but people first and foremost. We love people first; then we teach them to love dance.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Most schools are very sales driven. Ask if the price per lesson ever changes. Normally your first package or two will not be the actual price. It normally goes up after you are hooked.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do you want to do.
Compete? Social Dance? Prepare for an event? Perform but not competively?
What is your budget? Know how much a month you can spend.
Know your schedule, this can take as much time as you can give it. What you put in, you most certainly will see come out in your learning and dance.
