I will teach the language in any way that makes it comprehensible for the student. This includes singing, dancing, acting, telling stories, whatever it takes. I love helping students acquire language. It's the most rewarding part of my job!
The students. The students give me the energy and the drive that I need to be the best teacher for them. I also love expanding their horizons to new languages and cultures thus wetting their appetite for traveling the world and having more empathy for people of diverse backgrounds.

I want to see what the student's particular goals are for tutoring. I will do my best to accommodate their goals, so that we may have a successful and productive lesson each time.
I have taught French and Spanish for 9 years in both middle school and high school.
I graduated Suma Cum Lade from Oklahoma State University with degrees in Education, Spanish, and French.
I started teaching after graduating from college and have loved it ever since then.
I have worked with a variety of students including those with various learning disabilities, GT students, and Special Education students. The students I've worked with come from various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
This past April, my colleague and I took students to the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University. While there, the students were given a tour exclusively in Spanish. The tour guide did not give us the traditonal history lesson on the paintings, rather she explained the artistic technciques and artistic purpose behind each painting. It was so delightful to hear all of her explanations in Spanish and to hear our students asking her poignant questions in Spanish as well. Many of our students were not native speakers.
Every student has a different learning style. Give the teacher at least a few sessions to see if he or she caters to your particular style. If not, move on to the next teacher.
