Head Basketball Coach: BIO

A. Hines is one of the finest basketball coaches in the United States. He brings a strong sense of Philosophy on discipline, hard work, unity, and creativity to the hardwood. As a former assistant basketball coach at WOSC. Hines earned the respect from his peers through his intense work ethic and hardnosed approach to the game.

Coach Hines comes to the eagles after spending several seasons at Western Oklahoma State COLLEGE. In 2007- 2008 as an assistant under Rolando De La Barrera, WOSC beat #1 rank Midland Junior College who eventually went on to win the 2007 NJCAA National Championship. The pioneers were rank as high as #14 in the NJCAA top 25.

2006-2007 season Hines help Coach the Pioneers to 21 victories and to the NJCAA Region II Tournament in Shawnee, Oklahoma. While under Coach Rolando, Hines responsibilities were recruiting, conditioning PROGRAMS, and developing players one on one.

Prior to joining Coach Rolando, Hines spent two seasons as an top Assistant Coach under Jerry Kassin for the men’s basketball team at Western Oklahoma State COLLEGE. While at WOSC, Hines helped lead the pioneers to the NJCAA Region II tournament in Shawnee, Oklahoma during 2004-2005 seasons. Also his responsibilities were Recruiting, Editing Game Tapes, and implementing defensives while developing players one on one. Coach Hines as help produce 33 Division I signees. Coach Hines also was part of the legendary historic African American preparatory school in Laurinburg NC. Laurinburg Institute was once a #1 prep school in the nation produce a lot of top players in the Country such as, Charlie Scott, James Sparrow, Chris Washburn, Sam Jones, Jimmy Walker, Shawn Williams, Joey Dorsey, Mike Evans, Jamel White,Chris Johnson, Kiwan Smith many more.

Coach Hines graduate from Purnell Swett High school in Pembroke, NC where he lettered in Basketball, Football, Track and name to the all-conference, all county football team. Also Hines has an Associates DEGREE IN Criminal Justice from Western Oklahoma State College.

I also will work very hard to make sure our students succeed in the classroom and help MOLD them into good student who become successful after basketball. Coach Hines understands the obstacles and barriers that many of our youth are faced with when seeking a higher education and it is Coach Hines goal to see that our youth are accepted to college and have no financial burdens in obtaining a COLLEGE EDUCATION
