I am native Spanish speaker from Cuba who enjoys working with and teaching others. I moved to the United States 20 years ago and since then have had a passion for learning languages. I am proficient in Spanish, English, and Italian and can teach all levels from beginner to advanced. Since English was my second language, I have a unique ability to teach those trying to learn from an empathetic standpoint. I look forward to working with you!

I most enjoy seeing my student's progress over time. It is an amazing thing to see someone go from having limited knowledge in a language to actively becoming better each day. I love to be a part of this process and ensure to encourage my students whether they can acknowledge their progress or not.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with new students, I usually set up a 30 minute free consultation to gauge where the student is at in their learning process with the language of interest. Once I understand this, I develop a lesson plan based on their school work each week, or individual skill-level if they are learning recreationally.

Pricing varies based on skill level and the individual needs of the student. On average I charge around $30/hr, but I am willing to work with you.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching 7 years ago when my niece moved to the United States. She was my first student and because English was her second language, I gained a lot of perspective on how to teach those in similar situations.

I have worked with students of all ages with varying experience levels. Most of my experience has been with children, but I have also taught many adults.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Language requires a lot of patience and understanding, especially when first starting out. When hiring a teacher, I would look for these qualities above all.
