About

I teach both electric and acoustic guitar. I teach how to play a variety of genres including country, pop, classical, alternative rock, punk, and metal. I also teach how to record, edit, and produce music. I have experience working with a variety of students of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. I also have experience working in special education. My teaching methods are based on the idea that everyone is individual and needs to be taught techniques that are optimal for their needs, goals, and skills. I believe music is a powerful outlet and is a great way to express feelings and thoughts, be entertained, socialize through musical events and activities, and relieve negative emotions. It is a powerful social, emotional, and mental outlet. Playing guitar is also a great way to develop strong dexterity and coordination. I have been playing for five years, and have played in four different bands. I currently play in two of those four bands and enjoy playing a variety of country, punk, pop, and metal.

I enjoy music for a few primary reasons. First, music is an emotional outlet. Life gets tough and there are times when talking simply is not enough. Music can be a way to express and relieve ourselves of negative emotions. Music can also be uplifting! It can carry good attitudes, optimism, and positivity with it! Second, music is something many individuals bond over. A love for music, a love for playing music, and a love for playing music together. Everything from playing in a band to singing campfire songs with friends while you strum your guitar is a chance to socialize over a healthy and enjoyable activity. Lastly, the guitar is a great hobby. You learn to be patient with yourself as you practice time and time again. It is also a skill you can take numerous places. Playing the guitar builds dexterity and coordination. Lastly, the guitar can be a great way to keep the mind busy in a fun way! Work, school, and other monotonous day-to-day commitments can be draining, and we feel burnt out. Playing the guitar is a great way to add some color to any bland black-and-white day!

Noah is remarkably patient and well-spoken. He helped me to learn how to play some of my favorite country songs and set me up to be a successful musician. Because of his teaching methods, I am now able to pick up and write music on my own.

    Frequently asked questions

My typical process starts with assessing the student's goals. Whether they want to learn how to read staff, tab, play certain songs, learn campfire songs to play with friends, or learn how to shred in a band, I can provide insights, training, and support for those dreams. I then begin preparing by creating lessons according to their goals, and especially their needs. Some individuals learn best by ear, vision, or reading. Some students require additional materials to take with them after class, and some can be productive in utilizing all that was discussed in class. I create my lessons based on these two crucial elements.

I have taught guitar for two years. I also have taught special education youth in academic environments and nannied for years. I have a sturdy amount of patience and am very understanding of students' strengths and weaknesses. I am quick to come up with effective solutions to obstacles and can provide the best experience for any given student!
