I am a native Spanish speaker proud of commanding a superior level of proficiency in this language, as it is called in Colombia, where I am originally from. Each student learns differently and I always adjust my methods in order to get the best results from each learner, I will tailor every class to your level, beginner, intermediate or advanced and I will show you key words, expressions, how to build sentences, main differences between both languages and common mistakes.
Being a tutor is my passion, helping students to go through the experience of learning a language, and seeing them gain confident about their Spanish skills is very rewarding for me. It is an honor to receive compliments from parents while I am teaching their children. Then, saying that their Spanish teachers have seen positive changes in the students under my tutoring. This motivates me to be more creative about my teaching strategies to make them more successful.
I have been living in the U.S for about 1 year. I studied Enseñanza de Español como lengüa Extranjera (ELE) at Universidad Externado de Colombia so I'm a good match to teach you how to read, write and speak Spanish. I want you to have fun learning another language because I know sometimes it can be annoying, boring and overwhelming but here I am.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I take my classes very personally and work together (with parents in case) to identify my students areas of weakness. I understand how important it is communicate.
I teach how to think in Spanish, I not only use visual and hands-on, I also introduce the natural think association for faster word to word association.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked as an Instructor of diverse products and topic at different Hotels in the training area in Bogota, Colombia for 15 years. Also I have experience as a Spanish Teacher since April 2010 as a Teacher Volunteer in a social project from low-income elementary schools in Colombia. My experience is with beginners and intermediate students (kids and adults).

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching Spanish Teacher as a Teacher Volunteer in a social project from low-income elementary schools in Colombia.
What types of students have you worked with?
Children between 9 and 16 years of low-income rural schools in Colombia, professional adults who wanted to improve their communication skills and recently with funconarios of the diplomatic sector and their families, interested in expanding their knowledge in foreign languages

work as a volunteer in the Hispanic Institutions of the county and in private institutions, specifically with projects of teaching Spanish as a foreign language
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I tell him to find a tutor with whom he shares common interests and who builds trust. The technique is based on the ability to communicate calmly and confidently without feeling uncomfortable. The rest of the tools are vocabulary, the rest comes with time and experience.
