About
Soundheart Learning Consultants offers a number of services designed to empower learners and families with educational support. Our programs include classes in a variety of subject areas, group activities, tutoring, educational advising options for learners of all ages, and parent support offerings.
With experience as a teacher in public instruction (K-12), teacher/advisor/head of school (private), university instructor, and private tutor, John Anthony Bassett has dedicated himself to progressive education for nearly 20 years. He enjoys creating classes and unique learning opportunities within communities, advising learners as they move through different stages of their education journey, and supporting post-high school planning. Learners working with John Anthony have been accepted into over 120 different colleges in North America and Europe and received over $20 million dollars in guaranteed scholarships.
Additionally, John Anthony loves teaching a wide variety of social science and Spanish language classes and facilitating travel opportunities for teens. He has supported learner participation in nearly 40 Model United Nations conferences across the Pacific Northwest, a two-week journey through Spain, and a spring break trip to Washington, DC in the past.
The best part of working in education is experiencing the joy that comes from helping someone grow.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step for me is getting to know the student. In my initial consultation, I will spend time digging into the learning style and preferences of the student. After that, I will help them build and plan a course of action that is personalized to them.
