Ms. Lauri came highly recommended to me through a mom group that I am in. My son (he is 9 and in the highly capable program, but as high cap kids can be, is very particular about how he processes and learns things) was showing interest in learning to play the piano. I wanted to make sure whoever taught him would be able to understand and be patient with him. I really appreciate Emiko's patience and ability to motivate my children playing piano. Yes we all acknowledge that there has been some tough days time to time (especially during my kid's teenage periods), however, we all went through this exciting journey of piano performance with such a joy until my girl successfully enrolled to MIT. Thank you, Emiko for endurance, patience, ability to communicate effectively about love of music. First and foremost shes brilliant. Shes energetic, observant, receptive, flexible, attentive, animated, modestly eclectic, very approachable, very knowledge and I personally recommend her 12 times out of 10. She has taught me techniques, and new ways to expand my vocal range, how to "tell the story" of songs, how to make a song my own and articulation is key. I can go on and on of what shes taught me but I'm a better vocalist and performer than I ever have been in my life and I cant thank her enough for it.
