Linda is a very patient teacher who knows exactly how to communicate each lesson so that it is fun and understood by the student. I especially appreciate the option to have lessons taught in person or virtually as it creates a more accessible learning environment for those days when one of us is feeling under the weather.
Linda is a great teacher, and our daughter enjoys her lessons. In my daughters word "she is patient, kind, and a good pianist."
Linda is a wonderful teacher who has taught my son how to play the piano. She genuinely cares about her students and does a great job of challenging them to keep them engaged and learning.
There are no words to describe the kind and consistent nature that Ms. Linda takes with our child. He absolutely knows what she expects from him and she also allows him to be a little boy and all that that entails as she gently guides him in the direction she has for him to go. Her lesson plans are developmentally appropriate and provide our child with a challenge that is tailored to his ability level. He absolutely loves the time he gets with her each week and has continued to love piano lessons even through the COVID lockdown and switch to the all virtual format. If you are considering having your child learn an instrument I highly recommend you start with EPS; you will not regret it. Thank you Linda!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First off, I schedule a 30 minute interview with the interested party in order to understand goals and to go over the studio policies. If all is acceptable and agreed upon, we can find a convenient time-slot and begin lessons the following week. There is no high pressure involved.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

In addition to teaching, Ms. Bates has acted as Music Director for several community theater productions in Crested Butte Colorado which included vocal direction and accompaniment for the musicals Annie and Oliver and served as pianist in Cabaret. She was employed by The Portland Waldorf School as classical pianist for the Eurhythmy class. Linda has served as Director of Music Ministries, Worship Leader, pianist/keyboardist and Music Coordinator in various churches for the past 17 years and has accompanied school concerts, numerous weddings and social events. She considers music to be a lifelong pursuit, and continues to further her education by attending pedagogy seminars, college classes and teacher workshops.
