Ray H. says, "I had always wanted to learn piano and I wanted to have something that my kids and I could learn together. I needed someone who was going to be good with both adults and kids and Rachel fit that perfectly. Rachel helped me by being so patient and encouraging. She made the learning process really fun but always challenged us to try to push ourselves in our learning. Her encouragement helped us want to practice in between lessons and we looked forward to her visits. She helped grow our love of learning music instead of making it feel like a chore. We were always excited to learn new songs and new lessons. My kids were very comfortable learning from Rachel. When they were struggling or made mistakes, her encouragement helped them to push through and make great improvements. I would highly recommend Rachel as a piano instructor to people who want someone to foster an enjoyment of music and instill artistry in their lives. ~ Diana Milligan" Read more

I encourage students to find their goals and together we make a pathway to success. In my studio we teach every instrument. Which is great. I can refer folks to who best suits them this also helps with scheduling. You always get the time slot you need. My studio is in Capital Hill area or just west of there by the Arboreetum. we do recitals at a local venue every month or two and kids and adults love it! We we have taught over 3000 lessons and have only had one or two complaints EVER!!! We are all professional working artists! Fun to hang with and I meet all my students where they are. Kenna B. says, "I cannot say enough good things about Lauri- I've never had a better piano teacher! As a child, I took piano lessons sporadically, but never consistent enough to play well. I'm now 24 and have been taking online lessons with Lauri for over a year, with incredible success! She pays attention to the things that are important to me and tailors each lesson to what I need to work on most. She teaches me how to practice each concept effectively so that I learn better. She's incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of music and great at answering questions. She's patient and she makes lessons fun! She has made it so I even prefer online lessons because of how easy they are with her. I'd recommend Lauri 1000x over!" Read more

Wonderful experience introducing our daughter to music. Mrs. Blanzy is patient and kind while clearly setting expectations. Mrs. Blanzy did everything she could to work with our schedule and keep music in our home. We are very grateful for the time we had with Mrs. Blanzy and we would recommend her highly!

Shawn is very talented. We signed our daughter up for piano lessons, but his lessons have not at all been limited to piano. He’s taught her about all sorts of instruments; taught her the concept of a melody, rhythm, harmony; and (probably most importantly), has engaged into becoming very interested in learning about music. As a parent, it’s also fun to watch her learn to both create songs as well as start to read music. I could not recommend him enough!

Jacob is an excellent with kids. He tries to connect with them by getting to know them on a personal level. He makes sure that he is teaching to the interests of his students. Jacob really breaks down the music so that it is easier to learn. Try Jacob out- you won't be disappointed.

Ms. Lauri came highly recommended to me through a mom group that I am in. My son (he is 9 and in the highly capable program, but as high cap kids can be, is very particular about how he processes and learns things) was showing interest in learning to play the piano. I wanted to make sure whoever taught him would be able to understand and be patient with him. Ms. Lauri and I had extensive conversations about Jax, his learning style, challenges he might show etc. prior to committing to lessons. We decided it was a good fit and my gosh, best decision ever! Jax LOVES playing the piano and really enjoys learning from Ms. Lauri. Hearing him play has brought so much joy to our home and we are looking forward to his first virtual recital and to see how he’ll continue to learn and grow. Thank you for being the best teacher for Jax!

I really appreciate Emiko's patience and ability to motivate my children playing piano. Yes we all acknowledge that there has been some tough days time to time (especially during my kid's teenage periods), however, we all went through this exciting journey of piano performance with such a joy until my girl successfully enrolled to MIT. Thank you, Emiko for endurance, patience, ability to communicate effectively about love of music. My girl still plays piano, due to the solid foundation and techniques acquired from Emiko's wonderful teaching.

First and foremost shes brilliant. Shes energetic, observant, receptive, flexible, attentive, animated, modestly eclectic, very approachable, very knowledge and I personally recommend her 12 times out of 10. She has taught me techniques, and new ways to expand my vocal range, how to "tell the story" of songs, how to make a song my own and articulation is key. I can go on and on of what shes taught me but I'm a better vocalist and performer than I ever have been in my life and I cant thank her enough for it. If you're reading this just give her a call you'll love her trust me😊
