William Heide
About
Hi! My name is William, and I’ve been playing bass for about 8 years. I’m from Racine Wisconsin and currently live in Milwaukee. I come from a classical background in cello which helped me tremendously in playing bass by giving me an appreciation for reading music and developing tonal awareness of your fretboard. I have experience teaching dance, being a dancer at Milwaukee ballet, and I’d love to share my love of music and ideas I’ve learned from my home guitar/bass instructor Tony Roland with other willing bass students. I love jazz, fusion, funk, rock and metal. My preference at this point would be beginners or someone looking for something different. I believe I could offer someone a very good foundation and appreciation for the bass as well as a gateway into more advanced playing techniques. I’ve spent a lot of time looking at hybrid plucking and slap techniques from the likes of Victor Wooten, Adam Nitti and Stuart Hamm that have become a core part of my improv and playing in general.
