I've been performing in the Greater Columbus area for over 20 years; from Classical to Jazz to Irish Fiddle. I have performed with several local Irish groups and have performed at the Dublin Irish Festival for the last 15 years. I offer Violin and Viola lessons as well as Ear Training. Instrumental lessons can be a traditional focus, or focus on fiddle or improv styles. The goal is to provide students with the musical instruction they need, not just the instruction they'll pay for....

I have been playing violin since the age of three and trombone since age ten and my love for music has only grown since then. I received my BA in trombone performance from OSU in 2016. I've had the opportunity to travel all over the world performing on cruise ships and with various orchestral and jazz groups. I find great joy in helping my students realize the potential that they didn't even know they could achieve. I will help you grow as a musician and teach you different skills while also making it fun by learning songs that interest you. I can't wait to meet you and start making music together!...

Jason M. says, "Rick is not your typical trainer. He emphasizes correct form all the time, proper breathing in the exercise, and makes sure I feel safe doing his whole body routines. He definitely has passion and confidence in what he knows and shares this freely. His gym is small, but it surprisingly is set up for everything a big gym has. Rick has been consistent the past 3 months with good workouts, follow up evals, listening to my ideas, and always making sure I understand the exercise and that I'm doing them correctly. I highly recommend Whole Body Fitness by Rick. " Read more

Learning to play an instrument involves practicing. Wow, what a stupid sounding statement. Practicing is only marginally profitable unless you know “how” to practice. I could tell you right here, in a few words, how to practice and you might say, “ Well, of course, anyone would know that.” The problem is, knowing and doing it two different things. I like to ask a new player, “What are you hoping to song or melody are you hoping to learn to play?” For me, this way of learning an instrument is a lot more fun than playing scales and arpeggios for years, in hopes to someday being able I to play some of the stuff really want. If this sounds
