About
Drum Lessons That Get You Playing Music—From Day One
The point of learning a musical instrument is simple: to play music. Drumming is no different. My goal as a drum instructor is to inspire students to enjoy making real music on the drums—not just practicing exercises, but actually playing songs.
My teaching approach is built on strong musical fundamentals, presented in a way that’s engaging, practical, and fun:
Technique – Developing a proper physical approach from the start, including posture, stick grip, and foot technique, so students play efficiently and avoid bad habits.
Music Literacy – Learning to read drum and percussion notation using professional standards as defined by the Percussion Arts Society, and applying that knowledge directly to the kit.
Music Theory – Understanding song structure and how drums and percussion support, shape, and drive the music.
Playing Songs – Because that’s the point, after all. Lessons focus on applying skills to real music in a musical context.
Have Fun – Playing drums should be enjoyable at every stage of the process—including learning. Fun fuels progress.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, my lessons are designed to build confidence, musicality, and a lifelong love for playing the drums. 🥁
