Haitian Cooking Lessons
About
I love to cook and I am a patient teacher. Put the 2 together and there's no way we won't have fun. Haitian food lessons are not common, but the food is delicious. This is just a fun way of sharing my culture with you.
I have worked in the past with beginner Haitian restaurant owners who are looking to refine their menus and start out with the basics. I also love using more modern kitchen gadgets and techniques to make the intricate food prep process a lot easier.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I'd like to have a casual convo and determine if my specific cooking class is something that my potential student would like to explore. If so, we could then talk about learning methods and I would outline how the lessons would go - selection of dish, grocery list of ingredients, preparation, meal execution, and feedback.
Still fairly new on this platform but I'm willing to be flexible if you are.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been cooking Haitian cuisine for as long as I can remember. I also worked at a Haitian restaurant for several years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing will depend on the difficulty of the dish and the amount of preparation needed. I also factor in individual and group classes. But generally, your most basic lesson situation will start at $30 per 30-45 min lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching family members and friends.
What types of students have you worked with?
Various levels. Beginners and intermediate in terms of cooking skills in general. Other students have been fully experienced with other cultural dishes (American, Hispanic, African) but had no experience with Haitian cuisine.
