Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I access each student and determine their level when they enter the studio and we work together to build from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 15 years of teaching experience for all levels and all voice types. Currently I have more men in my studio but I personally studied with a male for most of my training. I also have been performing and working as a freelance singer for years. My highest level of education is a Masters in Arts in Vocal Performance.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes I start all my 30 min lessons at $35.
How did you get started teaching?
My mentor encouraged me to start teaching and offered me vocal referrals.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have students as young as 7 and I have students in their 70s!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you are serious about your voice take lessons! Find a teacher that works for you. We don't have all the answers but working with someone else to improve your skills is always a bonus!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Decide what goals you have in mind and make a plan to work towards them! It may be just singing better at karaoke or preparing for an audition! I always encourage my students in their goals whatever they are as none are too small!
