The Giger Vocal Studio is fantastic! I've had the pleasure of working with this studio for about a year and within the short time my voice has greatly improved. Mr. Giger's extensive professional vocal experience, in addition to his vast understanding of the vocal instrument, are applied to every lesson. Personally, Mr. Giger has a wonderful personality and is easy to work with. I also appreciate his ability to work around my busy schedule. I've never left a lesson disappointed!!!

My favorite thing about working with John Giger is that he can always point me to the most important vocal issue I am working on, even when I don't know what it is that isn't working! His ear is impeccable at hearing the slightest difference in my tone or color that needs help.

I enjoy Mr. Giger’s energy and I believe in his teaching philosophy. He has reignited my love for singing. I recommend Giger Voice Studio to anyone, at any level, who has a passion for music and voice.

He tailors the lessons to exactly where you need to be. He’s super flexible and works around my crazy schedule. Each lesson is fun yet challenging. I’ve been going for a little over two years and have seen incredible growth. I would highly recommend him.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We simply meet up at my home studio location for a free initial consultation, we discuss the potential students desires, dreams, and aspirations regarding vocal development or vocal career goals.  We informally evaluate the students voice, background and experience, and discuss vocal/singing concepts, we mutually assess the feasibility of continuing since student/teacher positive chemistry is essential!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a degree in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pegagogy from the University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA - I was in the Master Class of the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, CA.  I am trained in a wide variety of styles, have performed 5000 concerts throughout the US, Canad, And Great Britain and recorded 9 CDs.  I have been teaching private voice lessons for over 30 years, dozens of my students are now enjoying successful singing careers.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

A range of pricing options are discussed in the initial free consultation based on the individuals budget and goals, flexiibilty is always shown toward a well motivated student!

How did you get started teaching?

Teaching voice was a natural outcome from a successful performance career as I desired to "pay it forward" out of deep gratitude for the wonderful life of singing that I have enjoyed!

What types of students have you worked with?

I have taught a very broad range of vocal students, male and female, from 12 years of age to 85 years old - from classically oriented students, to pop, country, contemporary, gospel and a few rock singers.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Two of my students recently won 1st and 2nd place in a Kareokee contest in Scottsdale, AZ.  Many of my students are performing at local Musical Theaters - the Herberger in Phoenix, the Hale Theater in Gilbert, AZ, and Grand Canyon University!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Never let anyone or anything stand in the way of your dream!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Am I ready of make a committment toward my singing aspriations?  Am I ready to embrace the disciplines of excellence?
