The benefit of dancing at the studio is you will actually be in a space that embraces the culture of dance which has great mental effect on performance and learning. You'll meet other dance teachers in passing and you will be encouraged to check out our full class schedule at the Elektro Dance Academy once you feel comfortable.

I enjoy teaching people how to find their own brand of movement while also helping them learn to retain and apply movement created by other dancers. Moreover, it brings me joy to dance and create. At the core of everything, the joy of sharing an experience is why I love to dance and love the work that it comes with.

George is a genius, amazing teaching style! Very patient and takes the time to explain things to make sure the concepts really stick for his students. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get better.

    Frequently asked questions

    Learning Process

    1. What do you want? As a teacher it is important to me that I know what is important to you. Learning your personal "Why"  or "goal" helps me understand how much "push" you want from me as a teacher. Some People have the goal of become a professional dancer. Therefore, i'll give your professional industry training. However, some people just want to have fun and stay in shape which is a great goal as well.

    2. What are you looking for? Students come to me for many reasons. Some want to train to become a better dancer so i give them dance training drills and exercises (both creactively and physical). Sometimes students will come to me for choreography. Whether its for a perfromance, talent show, learning to create choreography, or just to get better at retention, choreogpahy training is a great exercise. Lastly, dance can be an exercise in it of itself. If you're looking to stay fit, there are many combonations of moves that will keep the blood pumpin and make you sweat! In that case I would shift our lesson model to incorperate strength and cardio training through dance.

(I do not take students younger than 9 years of age.)

I started teaching when I joined Elektrolytes Dance Crew in 2009. I taught children for many years than eventually began teaching teenagers and adults as I grew in my knowledge of dance. I recieved my Associates in Fine Arts from Scottsdale Community College and was able to teach in colleges as adjuct faculty. I have had the pleasure of teaching at many dance studios in and out of state including JEM dance for nine years and Experience arts school for six. I choreograph as a guest artist for many high schools in the East Valley. Even with a heavy workload of teaching I still find professional perfromace gigs to showcase my work and even perform myself from time to time.

I have worked with all kinds of students. Pre-professional, Professional, novice, adept, young, old, and those looking for a good time!

Recenltly, my company LUX Contemporary, showcased at Choreographer's Carnival Virtually. This showcase is usually held in LA. Choreographers, artists, and dancers from all over the world go there to showcase and network with celebrities and industry professionals.

My advice would be to look for someone that is going to push you. A dance teacher is much like a coach that encourages you to keep going. Look for someone who is patient with you and understanding what you want and pushes you towards that goal. Don't be afriad to ask tough questions. Their answers will give you insight into their professional training and experience.

    "Why am I doing this?"

    "What do I want?"

"How do I reach my goal?"

    "What am I comfortable with?"

"keeping my integrity, am I willing to go outside of my comfort zone to achieve my goal?"
