My daughter loves working with Bonnie. She is patient and kind. I would highly recommend her for art lessons.

Bonnie is a PHENOMENAL teacher! She knows music extremely well and has a lengthy experience of playing and teaching. Her knack for clearly communicating technique and theory places her in the highest of accomplished players. I would not hesitate in allowing her to set you up for success in your pursuit of artistic creativity and musical acuity.

My daughter has studied art, painting and crafting with Ms. Coleman for 7 years and guitar for nearly a year now. Under Bonnie's guidance Madison has won numerous awards in State and local competitions. She won the 2012 State wide centennial school district art award first place. Her art was displayed in Secretary of State Huppenthal's office. Madison was also accepted, through a juried process into the New School of the Arts and Academics. Bonnie encourages Madison's exploration of multiple art forms in music and art, such as sculpting, mixed media, fashion design and photography. I feel very comfortable with my teenage daughter's future being so strongly influenced by Ms. Coleman's encouragement to pursue a successful career in the arts.

Bonnie has been teaching my oldest son how to play the guitar for two years. He has learned so much from her. When he started playing the Baritone last year he didn't have any issues with reading the music thanks to his lessons with Bonnie. My youngest son is taking art lessons and gets better and better with each lesson. Bonnie is a very patient and fun teacher. She is also very encouraging.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I try to put the student at ease, assure them that with patience they will be successful ☺️

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Master's in music education and performance...classical guitar and over30 years teaching experience in art and music.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Art, drawing, painting, craft:

45 minutes $20, hour $25

How did you get started teaching?

I have been teaching since I was a student at the Willowdale Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada at the age of 15. I have tutored or taught every level from kindergarten to college and seniors.

What types of students have you worked with?

All ages, all levels.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Sharing the joy of a young 7 year old Ukulele student who memorized her first solo with everything just right!!!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look for a teacher who really teaches music/art technique, not just a "show me some songs", or "give me a project" type of teacher.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What are their immediate goals and their long time goals as an artists or musician.
