Small Mountain Tennis

Hello everyone! My name is Gavin and I am a Tennis coaching pro living in the PHX Metro. I have 15+ years playing in the sport of tennis. My playing experience includes high school, USTA regional and national events. I am just starting out on my coaching journey, I have coached 1 year of middle school tennis and currently I have a few clients. I am excited to increase my coaching portfolio. Additionally, I am working towards my USPTA certification with an expected finish before the end of 2023. I am originally from New Mexico but moved to the PHX area in 2017. Tennis is my passion and I love to be surrounded by it in any way. You will often find me watching Tennis Channel and closely following the ATP Tour. My favorite player is definitely Roger Federer but I am a fan of every member of the big 3. I offer a free 60-min diagnostic lesson to assess each student's skill level and aid in planning both long-term goals and lesson planning. After the initial diagnostic lesson I offer a variety of single and multi-lesson plans. I look forward to working with everyone to improve their game!

My teaching philosophy is built upon communication, competitiveness, humility and patience. Everyone progresses differently.

Each student that signs up for lessons will receive a personal binder that will have long-term goals, drill agenda and lesson plans custom built for each student. Everyone is unique and I want to respect that by building costume lesson plans and drills that directly help the individual progress in their own tennis journey. I want my students to have fun, get exercise and become better tennis players!
