About

I stand by my promise to every new student: improve during our first session or receive a full refund. I encounter many students disillusioned by past failures, fed the myth that deterioration precedes improvement. I reject this notion entirely. It's an excuse, shifting the blame onto you, making you feel inadequate if you don't immediately succeed.

While I often work with advanced golfers, my passion extends to anyone eager to enhance their skills in this sport that has captured my dedication. Whether it's teaching someone to draw the ball or achieve greater distance off the tee, the joy is the same as seeing one of my tournament players clinch a victory. My enthusiasm for teaching is as strong now as it was over two decades ago. The greatest reward for me is witnessing my students become self-reliant, capable of diagnosing and correcting their own mistakes. They understand that common misconceptions like "lifting your head" don't apply. Instead, they focus on the technical aspects, such as angle of attack and low point, tailored to their specific needs.

My journey into coaching was inspired by a childhood curiosity. I couldn't understand why seasoned players, like those my father played with, had no insight into their flawed swings. This observation set me on a path to demystify golf, dispelling the myths and misconceptions that have hindered so many. My mission is clear: to educate golfers, empowering them to transcend the limitations set by outdated beliefs.

Had my first lesson today with Erik which was fantastic. Being a instructor in another unrelated discipline you can tell pretty quick when you have a person who has a great understanding of concepts and the ability to not only explain, but demonstrate the task at hand. Erik absolutely is one of those people. The improvements that I was able to make after the first lesson were well worth the money. I will most definitely be back and look forward to where my game goes. Happy to have found a great instructor after a long search.

Erik is flat out a great coach and mentor! I highly recommend him! Working from the ground up, my swing is healthier and smooth! I wanted a coach that shared the same main principles as the late Toni Manzoni and Erik hits the mark! Found Erik by listening to the Golf Smarter podcast by Fred Greene and connected with EJS Golf through the Perfect Motion app. Erik is motivated and incredibly gifted at his craft!

Erik does a really good job of communicating what’s happening in your swing and how to make adjustments. Really like his open approach to the game and overall professionalism.

    Frequently asked questions

I plan on spending an extra 15 to 30 minutes with new students.  Prior to the first lesson I will send them a form to give me an idea of where they are as a golfer and where they want to go with it.  I want to do whatever I can to help my students reach their goals

PGA, TPI(Titleist Performance Institute) Certified Level 1 and 2. Scott Cowx certification.  Boditrak pressure mat certified.  Dr. Kwon level 1 and 2 biomechanics and onhsics of the golf swing.  Trackman Certified Level I and II.  PGA Hope.   I have  several different Titleist certifications including club fitting, ball performance and much more.

You would find it hard to not have a golfer on the PGA that has won a major that isn't aligned with a TPI coach

TPI is at the forefront of golf technology, research and training!

Titleist certified fitter of clubs and golf balls.

    Trackman Certified

I offer 4 to 5 different lesson packages that are all based around the number of lessons and frequency.  For the technology that I own and use, I am priced very fairly.

This has been my passion since a teenager. When I got hurt and tournament golf was out the picture, I moved into teaching. I enjoy the friendships that I have made through golf instruction as well as making golfers better, reaching their goals.

All levels. I have not directly taught PGA players but I have observed many lessons with the best instructors in the world coaching them. I have also worked with beginners and everything inbetween.

I am always fond of the student coming to me with how their swing clicked and the score to match it. One of my students really struggled with their chipping, blading and skulling almost every chip over the green.  After I worked with her on the correct technique during a lesson she went and played golf that day.  I was just packing up from my final lesson for the day when out of nowhere I was caught in a big bear hug by her thanking me for making golf fun again.  She was so tormented by chipping that it stripped the joy out of the game.

If they do not use video at a minimum, run 😀!  Golf is no longer, like the rest of sport, making decisions on a hunch or a gut decision.  I would also talk to them about ground forces and the biomechanics of golf.  Finally, ask for actual results that may match what you are trying to do.  If you are trying to go from an 18 to an 8, ask for examples of students that have done that with their help.  Do the same for distance or whatever you are interested in.

I use high end video, Boditrak pressure mat, Trackman launch monitor and whole host of the latest and greatest training aids to make you better as fast as possible! Your brain needs to sense feel and also use the left side of the brain with video and Trackman numbers.

Does this instructor have a plan, long term, to make golfers better!
