Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Assessment of fundamentals and mechanics. My idea to start on a program or with a student is to assess how the student, adult or child, moves and how one can respond to instruction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a USTA NTRP rated 5.0 level player. I have played USTA leagues at the advanced level for 20 years and have played USTA National tournaments and Southern California tournaments. Experienced for many years working with students of all ages. Professionally, I am a Real Estate Broker, but I enjoy teaching and playing a sport and game to others who really want to learn! :)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Group lesson of 2 people, same level is $45 for each player. If 3 or more, it is $40 per player. All time spent with each other is capped for one hour. Pre paid plans are preferred but I understand if one session is necessary to see if we have chemistry to continue to work with each other.
How did you get started teaching?
For about 21 years, I was the USTA San Gabriel Valley Area League Coordinator and because of COVID, we did not have any tennis going on so instead, personally decided to go outdoors to meet new people and teach a sport I very much enjoy!
What types of students have you worked with?
All types from disabled, handicap, autistic to very athletic and talented people.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
French Open
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Go with someone you genuinely feel you like and have chemistry with and most importantly have fun while learning a new skill. My advice is to learn how to play for longevity and not get injured during your journey to play.
