About this pro

My goal is for each student/actor to have a personal connection to the text, communicating with clarity and understanding. My 30 years experience allows me to access many and various methods to help the student master the text.

I love those moments when "the light bulb goes off" and you see the look of awakening on the students face. You see it in their faces and hear it in their voices, a great wave of confidence and joy takes over.

I love actors and enjoy helping them be the very best that they can be.  It is so exciting to meet a student and figure out how to bring out the best in them.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to schedule an initial meeting so that I really understand what your goals are and how I can design a program for your success.

My training and experience is very extensive and varied.  I will offer many options to help you hone your skills.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communication/Theatre Arts.  I have trained extensively with Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA.  I was Artistic Director of Inside Shakespeare and Conejo Valley Shakespeare Society, Youth Shakespeare.  I have extensive experience teaching and directing actors of all ages.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $75 per hour for private lessons.  My intention is for the actor to be able to incorporate my lessons into their personal wheelhouse, so that there is a clear timeline for private instruction.

How did you get started teaching?

The more training and experience I gained as an actor, the more excited I became to share what I have learned.  I started my own teaching company, in addition to directing and coaching actors.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have taught and directed actors of all ages.  I love the challenge of finding out what methods an actor will respond to best.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would advise a student to have a basic understanding of their goals and find a teacher who they can be comfortable with and also will challenge them.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What are your short term/long terms goals?

What type of acting do you want to focus on?

Do you wish to act professionally?

Do you wish to act on stage?

What is your experience?

What would you like to achieve by taking lessons?

How soon would you like to begin?
