Within ONE lesson, Howard could pinpoint EXACTLY what my trouble areas are, and not only is he able to articulate a very clear plan for dealing with those, but he has also helped me with the burdening amount of pain that plagues my joints and muscles when I play something technically demanding! Furthermore, he is very focused, understanding, knowledgeable and gentle! After having many verbally.... difficult teachers whose teaching involved quite a bit of negative reinforcement, it is an absolute pleasure and an eye opening experience to have a patient, understanding teacher. Some people may learn quite well in that fashion, and there was a period of time when I actually believed, or rather was brainwashed into thinking that being verbally berated would serve as motivation. But now I see quite clearly that is not the case: I learn a lot better and I am more motivated to practice when I find it a pleasure to go to my piano lessons! Thank you, Howard for all your dedication, patience and knowledge!

In 1984 I was in a bad car wreck. The resulting coma left me with a severely monotone voice for years. I worked with speech -therapists and later professional singers. I had nearly given up! I discovered David Way just before the pandemic, his education and experience were evident I was impressed with the way he evaluated my abilities and deficits. He spent time coming up with a plan. When we started working together I could only sing five notes; now I’m able to sing two octaves easily! His talent is impressive…

I began vocal therapy with Marquita years ago after being diagnosed by a doctor with nodules on my vocal cords and he recommended surgery. My constant hoarseness and raspy voice affected my singing and inability to speak without pain in my job as a teacher and a drama director. Marquita, who is an expert on vocal therapy, gave me vocal exercises and taught me how to speak and breathe properly. With voice therapy, my vocal nodules healed without surgery! I was able to sing again and have been able to teach and work as a drama director with no pain or recurring problems with my voice. Thank you, Marquita! You saved my voice so that I could continue to do the things that I love; like teaching, drama and singing. I don't believe I would have been able to continue to do any of it without your incredible skills as a vocal therapist and singing coach.

Cathy is a pleasure to work with. I came to Cathy with no singing experience. She always takes the time to answer my questions and to develop a lesson plan specific to my needs. During my time with her she has helped me to expand my vocal range and boost my confidence to perform in public. She even provided me with some CDs with vocal exercises and warmups.
