Excel Tennis And Fitness

About this pro

I believe I have a unique mix of experience, knowledge, and skills that will enhance your tennis game and fitness in critical areas. In addition, I possess qualities and characteristics that will deliver you success; perhaps the most important is a strong work ethic (passion for the game of tennis, responsibility, diligence, positive attitude, etc.). I consider myself to be a hard worker at whatever I do and will commit myself to make sure the task at hand is accomplished and done correctly. Especially with regards to my own personal journey in tennis (playing and coaching), I've come to understand that goals cannot be reached without dedication and the willingness to work hard.

I've been teaching tennis to people of all ages and all levels for over 5 years. I am USPTA certified teaching professional. I played both collegiate and professional tennis.

I love being a coach/teacher. I love meeting and connecting with new people and I love the game of tennis. I believe if you're doing what you love then you don't work a day in your life. Tennis has provided such a great life experience for me and I will continue to follow my passion with regards to teaching and coaching.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First and foremost is determining together with each client what exactly his or her needs/wants are. Setting goals, ensuring efficient communication and reviewing timelines in order to achieve those shorterm or longterm goals. Once determined I can move forward with a complete evaluation of the client's playing level (tennis) or fitness level (fitness). After the evaluation I will know how to proceed with each instructional session.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My major field of study in college was Physical Health and Wellness. Not only did I study this in college, but it is a true passion of mine and I practice living a healthy lifestyle each and every day. I have studied many aspects of health and exercise science (anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, nutrition). Through tennis, I have worked specifically with many clients on their fitness. Through my studies and experience, I believe I have the ability to help people improve their fitness level and/or lose weight.

How did you get started teaching?

Tennis is my first passion. I can not get enough of it and that obviously includes playing the sport, but after college I chose to extend that passion in the form of teaching. Now I have studied and applied my knowledge to teaching the game and have made it my career.
