Studio 333

About

If you want to learn how to play drums QUICKLY then Studio-333 is the place to come. It is a very cool, fun environment for learning. I have 2 drum kits facing each other so you can mirror everything that I am doing. My teaching methods aren't like most. I was self taught up until I was 19 where I attended Musicians Institute in 1983. I have a ton of experience.

I also record high quality video/audio of each lesson so the student can watch, and reference as much as they like. Here is an example:

She says he is funn and attentive and is the coolest guy ever! I love the studio and the way he has it set up for focus of his students. He is able to immerse the kids and keeps their focus! Frank is awesome! Ive been taking drum lessons with him and he really knows how to work with whatever you throw at him. Whether it be tryin to figure out a cool drum part in a song, tighten up your timing or just overall rudiments. His studio is a perfect setting for getting straight to work. With his two drum sets staged face to face, a separate drum recording box and dim lighting to focus your mind on the task at hand, you cant ask for much more to help you feel any more comfortable than his home studio he put together. Definitely recommend!!

5 star ratings from previous reviews is well deserved. Had my first drum lesson with Frank and it was such an awesome experience, I had a lot fun and I’m looking forward to many more lessons with him. He doesn’t really have a structured lesson plan like most places that will charge you a ridiculous amount of money, instead his lessons are geared more toward the students skill level which is great if your a beginner like I am and just want to start playing as fast as possible.... a bonus is he won’t charge you an arm and leg for lessons, it’s very reasonable. I would absolutely recommend anyone interested in drum lessons to contact Frank first.

The first time I Frank opened up his garage and showed me his studio, my jaw dropped. Totally was not expecting this cool studio to be in the middle of a suburban neighborhood! Having no experience, I was nervous before my first drum lesson. I almost canceled but Im so glad I didnt because Frank is awesome! He tailored the lesson to how I was feeling and when I would mess up, he would remind me to slow down. He is a great teacher because he can identify what you need to work on and will give tips and advice on how to improve. I am a very visual learner so he would play along with me while I watched and mirrored. He is genuinely excited for you when you start making progress! I would highly recommend Frank, hes friendly, encouraging, and made me feel comfortable in this new territory of drumming! Hes also very flexible with his schedule so he can accommodate!

    Frequently asked questions

I like to sit with a student, and find out where they are at experience wise.  If they have no experience we start with a song that they like, and learn how to play it.  I'm a self taught drummer. I didn't learn how to read music until I was 19, when I moved out to Los Angeles to attend Musician's Institute in 1983.  I like to make it fun!  Lets learn how to play first, then we can get to the reading and rudaments!

I graduated from Musician's Institute in 1983.  I've been a full time working drummer for 35 years.

I used to teach at a music school that I felt charged way too much.  They were charging $40 per half hour and $80 per hour.  I charge $30 per half hour, and $50 per hour at my studio.

People kept asking me if I would give them lessons.  I kept saying no for the longest time.  I'd tell them "I'm a player, not a teacher".  Then one day I decided to give it a shot, and realized that I really enjoyed it!

All types from beginners to experienced.  Here is a beginners very first lesson - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGvhDFKPUC4

I have been teaching a special needs kid for about 2 years.  He is 16 now.  It has been so amazing just watching him grow. I've never seen anyone that loves drums as much as he does!

I'd say look for someone with experience and a reputation.  I'd make sure you have a teacher that has 2 drums sets so you can face each other during the lesson. I'd make sure that you like the teacher, and think he's fun!  That would be me!

Ask the teacher what style they specialize in.  Ask the teacher if they can help with a certian issue the student may be having.
